Claudia's Reflections

There is something special about a woman’s relationship with her father, and he with her. My Father was a quiet, gentle man whose world centered on his family and farm. As a child, he encouraged me to listen to the birds singing, taught me the importance of a soft summer shower and showed me the beauty of a perfectly shaped tomato grown on his farm in Agawam, Massachusetts. He listened with interest to my stories about my family, found my teaching anecdotes amusing and depended on my regular visits to the farm “to help him out.” 

When my Dad became gravely ill, he needed so much care and support. Just before he died, he made one last trip to my home. While there, he tried to turn on a small lamp, but needed my help. After his death, I put on that same light and its soft glow reminded me of his quiet presence. 

I started sending small angel lamps from a local florist as bereavement gifts. The testimonials were proof that I had created a wonderful alternative for bereavement and the concept of a remembrance light was born. As the idea grew, it became a “gift of light” for all occasions. We now cater to all of life’s milestones, including weddings, new homes, babies, birthdays, anniversaries, retirements and corporate gifts, as well as bereavement.
